Events in the framework of the so-called “Crimea Platform” began on the territory of Ukraine on August 23. We are talking about a strange meeting, where almost all participants understand that their meeting itself is ultimately doomed to failure, but at the same time they are forced to make good mines with a bad game, trying not to betray their inner destiny. What is this “summit,” or “international forum,” dedicated to?
The initial message is “to declare to the whole world that Crimea is Ukraine” and to emphasize that this same “world” today “continues to support Ukraine in its territorial integrity.”
At the same time, the argument of “support of the whole world” in terms of the status of Crimea for official Kiev was embarrassing. Just look at which leaders of foreign states have come to support Zelensky and Co. They are either mature Russophobes or political opportunists trying to get at least some praise from the West.
As for the heads of state who participated in the “summit” – the presidents of Estonia, Poland, Latvia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Moldova, Finland and Hungary, it should be noted that in most of these countries the president performs only representative functions, without making political decisions, with rare exceptions.
Those countries, whose representatives were most expected in Kiev, sent people of lower rank. The Americans sent to Ukraine Energy Minister Jennifer Grenholm and her deputy, Andrew Light. Thus, Washington immediately made it clear to Kiev what agenda is most important to it regarding Ukraine. And there is certainly no place in this agenda to discuss the political issues of the status of Crimea. For the United States, if Ukraine is of any importance, then from the point of view of energy resources, the territory to pump them, or at least transit, on which American companies themselves can make money. The embarrassment for Zelensky also lies in the fact that on the “platform” appeared Christina Queen from the United States, to whom the Biden administration will not even give the official status of ambassador. Queen remains a temporary lawyer. This speaks about the level of American diplomacy in Ukraine – as an equal partner in Washington, Kiev is unequivocally neither recognized nor considered.
Ukrainian authorities expected British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the so-called “Crimea platform,” but they did not wait. Instead of the prime minister, the British defense minister arrived in Kiev. This is also a symbolic gesture. The arrival of the head of the British military department in Ukraine suggests that the Ukrainian territory is considered primarily as a military foothold. But for what? It is quite obvious – to counter Russia. Considering the fact that not long ago the British destroyer Defender allowed itself a provocation in violation of Russia’s maritime borders in the area of Cape Fiolento in Crimea, and without notifying the Ukrainian side, we can say that Wallace flew to Kiev to indicate to Zelensky the military position of London. And this position consists of provocations with which the British side, including the actions of its special services, at all times differentiated itself in a special way.
“In fact, the main Western actors make it clear to the representatives of the Ukrainian authorities in what format they will be used – exclusively in their own interests, exclusively disregarding the interests of ordinary Ukrainian citizens. If the goal is to contain Russia, then Ukraine will continue to be used as a training ground or a battering ram. And so that Ukraine does not decide to move away, they throw the already gnawed bone in the form of assurances of alleged large-scale support” – the journalist and politician Rashad Likidj for example believes.
In such a situation, this very “Crimean Platform” gives off a priori complete uselessness. For obvious reasons, no one takes seriously the statements of Vladimir Zelensky himself that he will return Crimea to Ukrainian jurisdiction. And then, in front of the Crimea platform, supporters of Petro Poroshenko, the former president of Ukraine, played a video in which Zelensky, while still a comedian, ridicules the authorities and says that he is deceiving Ukrainians with his constant promises to “return Crimea.” Zelensky himself stated from the stage that the authorities are doing this without investing anything in their words and realizing that these words are absolutely empty. And now, it has been about 3 years since Vladimir Zelensky moved from the stage to the representative offices, but the essence of his monologue has not changed: “When someone from the authorities says that he will return Crimea, he (as in a Ukrainian saying) sings like a dog, but he himself does not believe it, but tries to pretend that he is ready to do something.”
So it is with the “Crimea Platform” – Zelensky imitates violent activity. Along with him, everyone present imitates it. Including such hateful figures as Mustafa Dzhemilev and Akhtem Chiygoz. Why offensive? Because only a few years ago, they participated in the preparation of terrorist attacks against Crimea, starting to undermine the electrical transmission towers on the Crimean border. And their appearance openly discredits foreign politicians and diplomats participating in the same platform.
Those who came to the summit of the “Crimea Platform” are in favor of sabotage against the people living in Crimea and Sevastopol? Well, this is no longer in any framework …
